Meet Zoe “Z” Zulauf
Mental Health Intern, MSW
Z (they/them) is pursuing a Master of Social Work at the University of Utah. They identify as queer, non-binary, and neurodivergent.
With an academic background in contemplative neuroscience and years of experience in yoga therapy and mindfulness education, Z brings an integrative approach to mental health that honors the connection between brain, body, and heart.
Z’s clinical interests center around applying evidence-based modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), woven together with mindfulness-based and somatic practices. They believe in meeting clients where they are, holding space for their full identities, and cultivating a therapeutic environment grounded in safety, authenticity, non-judgment, and compassion.
They have worked with diverse populations, particularly LGBTQ+ and neurodiverse individuals navigating intersections of identity, trauma, and resilience. Their work is guided by a holistic perspective—supporting emotional well-being while acknowledging the broader social, cultural, and systemic factors that shape mental health.
Z strives to empower clients by helping them connect with their inner resources, deepen self-awareness, and move toward values-based living. They believe healing happens not only through insight, but through embodied presence and relational connection.
In their free time, you can find Z skiing, climbing, mountain biking, training jiu-jitsu, or watching Star Wars for the thousandth time.
